I don't know what components I need ?

  • 2

I want to design two PCBs which lightens up its on-board LEDs when they come together in the range of each other. I want to keep it as simple as possible so that I can focus more on increasing the range. any leads on what components would I actually require to do so ?

P.S. In order to keep it handy and portable, I don’t want to use Arduino, launchpads etc..

PCBcupid has become my savior when it comes to PCB designing. I’m in my 3rd semester (electrical engineering)  with limited experience in microcontrollers.  I can read datasheets but always get stuck in component selection.

  1. To check if one device is within the range of another, you can use the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). This feature can be done with various protocols, such as WIFI, Bluetooth, LORA, and Zigbee.

Based on the distance required, you can choose one of these protocols and find a component that supports it.

You can watch this video from 00:30 to understand how to choose the right component.
