I’ll play with the array function. KiCad users can get a free license to Footprint Expert Pro from PCB Libraries. I used their wizard to create an edge connector pattern as a custom footprint object and that seems to have worked. I drew the board outline in PCB editor then placed the connector footprint, and everything seems to fit like it should…
